Mental Health First Aid

Looking after our mental health is as important as looking after our physical health. Workplaces are expected to have a first aider on site, and we believe that a mental health first aider being onsite is just as important. Unfortuantely the Mental Health Foundation (www.mentalhealth.org.uk)  conducted a survey of over 2000 people. This survey revealed that 38% of workers would be too worried talking openly about a mental health concern in case it had a negative effect on their job. 17% also raised concerns of being judged by colleagues.

One way of improving workplace mental health is to provide someone that workers can have an open and honest conversation with, who understands and is non judmental. More and more employers are opting to have a mental health first aider for this reason.

We are proud to be able to offer this service and have undertaken the two day training course with MHFA England giving us;

- An in depth understanding of Mental health and the factors affecting wellbeing.

-Practical skills to spot the signs of mental ill health.

-Confidence to step in, reassure and support someone in distress.

-Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non judmental listening.

-Knowledge to direct someone to relevant services.
